CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Corporate Responsibility is a fundamental pillar in the work at our firm. That is why, in line with our dedication to the agricultural sector, in 2012 we signed an agreement with the association Fairtrade International to support small exporters of different agricultural products in promoting Fair Trade.

In recent years Araya & Cía has collaborated with groups of small producers and enterprises offering general guidance and advice on international trade; drafting of contracts and agreements; creation of corporate and other entities in order to give legal personality to associations; extrajudicial collection process, and advice in relation to export operations and others.

We have already had some successful experiences with organizations of small producers such as Mi Fruta, Coasba and Agrícola Alborada. In 2013 we participated in the formation of the first Fair Trade association under Law 20,500 in Viña Santa Emiliana. This event set a very important precedent, since it was the first time a large winery carried out this process.

Likewise, various talks and seminars have been held, where small producers have had an outstanding participation.

It should be noted that Fair Trade is a form of alternative commercial exchange, which is based on cooperation between producers and consumers. Fairtrade offers producers more just treatment and more profitable trading conditions, allowing them to improve their living conditions and plan for their future.

We have also offered advice to several other associations and enterprises, to help them keep their legal entities required by law in order.

We support groups of small producers and companies associated with FairTrade International.
